Product Information
We found Entre Rios while cupping coffees from Aquiares we’d never bought before, looking for the right replacement for our Brazil. It surprised us: a Costa Rican coffee that drinks like a really good Brazil. Chocolate-forward and traditional, with a soft, date-like sweetness. It’s round, forgiving and at its best in milk.
It comes from Diego Robelo at Aquiares Estate, who we’ve bought from every year since 2021. Aquiares was founded in 1890 on the slopes of the Turrialba volcano and is home to a community of around 1,800 people across 924 hectares. It was the first farm in Costa Rica to meet the Rainforest Alliance Climate Module.
Entre Rios is a washed lot of Marsellesa and Red Obatá, two varieties bred for cup quality and resilience. Aquiares receives $9.90 for every kilo of green coffee, and we pay $12.30 a kilo to have it delivered to the UK.
